| "Slunce Sviti" is Alesh"s debut EP. Produced in 2022 by Frederic Wiethoelter, who has already showcased his expertise with recordings for The Blue Angel Lounge. The EP"s six songs take listeners on an emotional journey, exploring personal and collective issues in an ever-changing world. Inspired by the healing power of music and the quest for self-esteem, "Slunce Sviti" stands out for its honest, cathartic, and deeply emotional approach. Alesh delves into themes related to individual and collective mental health, love, pain, and friendship, reflecting the complexities of human relationships and the significance of music for humanity. Shaped by Alesh"s phases of adaptation in Germany and his homeland, Portugal, along with experiences of new friendships and isolation, enthusiasm, and depression, the EP"s sonic universe blends these contradictions and elements of Shoegaze and Post-Punk into an emotional journey. With reverberating and modulated guitars, a dreamlike atmosphere is created, while arrangements also explore moments of brutal distortion where confusion and beauty intertwine. According to Alesh, the title "Slunce Sviti" has a significant personal origin and represents a resilient person who maintained their life force despite numerous adversities. He states, "Slunce Sviti means "the sun shines" in Czech. It"s a title that comes from a story about a person who, despite all adversities, maintained tremendous life force. And that"s what the EP represents: the will to live. We want people to feel and know that, despite their personal problems, they are never alone." The central message is clear: "Clearer than ever, the remaining air: you must breathe, breathe, and be yourself.“ |
